Inland Journal, Sept. 24, 2019: Spokane Mayor David Condon

City of Spokane

Tuesday on the Inland Journal podcast, we talk with Spokane’s outgoing Mayor David Condon. Every two months, we visit the mayor in his office and ask him about some of the issues of the day. This time, among other things, we talk about the 2020 budget he has proposed. We ask about his support for a new city shelter for people who are homeless and the debate about homelessness in general and about lessons learned to pass on his successor.

The mayor meets with us every two months to talk about issues he’s working on and which are making news. This time we talked with him the day after he hosted a telephone town hall meeting to talk about the budget he has proposed for the city for next year. That’s where we started.

During the next few weeks, we’ll be back in candidate mode with new interviews with the candidates for Spokane mayor, council president and city council on the program. We’ll also talk with candidates for Spokane Valley City Council.
