Spokane Property Tax Deadline Extended

Doug Nadvornick/SPR

Spokane County taxpayers are getting some extra time to pay their property taxes this spring.

The county’s chief deputy treasurer, Mike Volz, says the April 30 deadline has been pushed back to June 15. Volz says the hope is that will take some pressure off of people and businesses that have had interruptions in their income due to the coronavirus. But…

“If you have the ability to pay, pay on time. This money is used for vital services. It supports the sheriff’s office. Property taxes support police departments, emergency medical services, our community health workers in a variety of capacities," Volz said.

He says says the county processed about $10 million in property taxes over the weekend. You can’t go to the treasurer’s office to pay your bill, the office is closed. But you can pay online or send a check with the notice you received in the mail.
