Greater Spokane To Distribute PPE To Small Businesses Next Week
One of the challenges for businesses during this Covid pandemic is finding enough hygiene products to keep workplaces and employees clean and safe.
Greater Spokane has pulled together a collection of personal protective equipment that it will distribute to small businesses next week.
Cindy Wendle is working with GSI’s Regional Economic Recovery & Resiliency Task Force. She says Greater Spokane’s members have asked for help in finding affordable cleaning supplies.
“We are all very aware that we want to have our employees confident when they come back to work, that they are safe and that the consumers are confident when they go and engage in the marketplace with our businesses that they are safe as well," Wendle said. "Of course we want to abide by the governor’s request for guidelines and so we thought this is the perfect way to support our businesses.”
Wendle says Greater Spokane has a range of supplies to distribute, from hand sanitizer and wipes to masks of different sizes. The organization is asking businessowners to go to the Greater Spokane website and register for supplies or they can email PPEinfo@greaterspokane.org. The distribution is open to businesses and non-profits with 49 or fewer employees.
GSI bought the supplies using two million dollars allocated by the county commissioners from the federal CARES Act.
