Spokane County Health Officer Bob Lutz released a statement on Saturday saying he has not resigned and has hired attorney Bryce Wilcox to represent him.
On Friday, Health District Administrative Officer Amelia Clark said she had recommended to the county health board in a closed session that Lutz be terminated for reasons she would not disclose. She had announced in a letter to SRHD staff that Lutz's last day would be Thursday. Lutz refused to resign by the end of the day Friday and Clark apparently doesn't have the authority to fire him.
So that leaves his fate up to the health board, which is next due to meet on December 3, according to the health district's website.
