Governor Jay Inslee declared a state of emergency Tuesday due to wildfires.
According to a press release, Inslee’s proclamation bans most outdoor and agricultural burning until the end of September.In a statement, Inslee urged the state to be vigilant against wildfires, citing the drought most of the state is under and the record-breaking heat.
The National Weather Service is predicting dangerous fire conditions will continue.
The state of emergency also activates the Washington National Guard to assist in fighting wildfires.
