Idaho will bill election conspiracy theorists for recount
Idaho election officials say they will bill pillow maker Mike Lindell $6,500 for their work to recount ballots from the 2020 presidential election. Lindell has asserted, without conclusive proof, that votes in all 44 Idaho counties were switched from Donald Trump to Joe Biden.Idaho state elections officials, including Chad Houck, have been skeptical, but over the last few weeks, they’ve conducted partial recounts in three counties, including Bonner. They found there was no evidence that supports Lindell’s claims.
Houck says, while the state found no smoking guns, the exercise was useful.
“We were able to make some recommendations in the two smaller counties that we went to on some storage processes and maybe some different ways to separate and isolate records for future, as they go into storage, so we were able to make some improvements there or at least recommend some improvements there," he said.
Houck says his office has worked for three years to improve the auditing and oversight of elections.
