Winter weather expected in eastern Washington and north Idaho on Tuesday

Courtesy of National Weather Service

Winter weather is coming to the Northwest on Tuesday. The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for parts of Chelan County, the Okanogan Highlands and Methow Valley and a winter storm warning for Stevens Pass.

Some of eastern Washington could receive a bit of snow. Forecasters had initially called for the Spokane area, parts of northeast Washington and north Idaho, including the Palouse, to get an inch or less, but it's likely today's precipitation will be rain instead. Gusty winds will blow as well. A high wind warning has been issued for the Walla Walla area and parts of northeast Oregon.

High temperatures will be in the 40s.
