Creatives behind a new site-specific play talk about its immersion and impact

Allison Price, Jonah Fujikawa and Dahveed Bullis joined E.J. Iannelli to discuss a new play called A League of Her Own, which opens tomorrow evening in Spokane.

A League of Her Own is a tense, one-woman, site-specific play that relies on audience immersion to achieve its full effect. It is performed in the basements and garages of actual homes, and key details of the plot should be withheld.

Price and Fujikawa are co-writers of the piece along with Abby Ferree. Price is also directing. Local actor Skyler Moeder, most recently seen in Significant Other at Spokane Civic Theatre, is performing in the lead role.

Bullis, a co-founder of Spokane Playwrights Laboratory, is a champion of the play and has lent his organization's support to bring the work to Spokane following its debut in Austin, Texas.

The play only accommodates ten seats per night, and there are just 23 tickets left in the current six-performance run as of this airing. However, there is a possibility that the run will be extended to meet demand.

A League of Her Own opens Saturday, November 26, 2022 and runs until December 2 at a private residence. Tickets, showtimes and other details are available at LOHO2022.eventbrite.com.

Please note that the play does come with a content warning and is best suited to over-18s.
