From the Studio: Mannheim Steamroller Christmas

Roxanne Layton of the Steamroller's Green Band chats about the 2022 concert

Roxanne Layton, the percussionist and recorder player for the Green Band of Mannheim Steamroller Christmas, talked to E.J. Iannelli by phone prior to their arrival in Spokane this Saturday to play the First Interstate Center for the Arts.

Mannheim Steamroller Christmas has been touring for nearly four decades, and Layton has been with the band for 27 years. In addition to her work with Steamroller founder Chip Davis, she has also performed with bands like the Indigo Girls.

From the tour bus, Layton talked about what exactly the Green Band is, previewed the two-hour concert setlist and detailed how the live performance both replicates and deviates from the songs found on Mannheim Steamroller's best-selling holiday CDs.

The concert is on Saturday, December 17, 2022. Tickets and more information are available on the First Interstate Center for the Arts website.
