From the Studio: "Scattered Storms" by Siri Stensberg

Artist Siri Stensberg describes her immersive new exhibition at SFCC

Artist Siri Stensberg entered the KPBX studio to talk with E.J. Iannelli about her exhibition “Scattered Storms,” which opens tomorrow (Jan. 10) at the Spokane Falls Community College Fine Art Gallery.

The Wisconsin-based multimedia artist and recent Washington State University at Pullman MFA grad explained the idea behind the "immersive" installation and its dynamic interplay of shape, materials, color, sound and light.

"Scattered Storms" is on display at the SFCC Fine Art Gallery until Friday, February 10, 2023.

Stensberg will also be hosting a lecture and a workshop on the day the exhibition opens (Jan. 10). The hour-long lecture starts at 10:30am at sn-w’ey’-mn (Bldg. 24) on the SFCC campus, and the workshop on "Found Color" begins at 1:30pm at Bldg. 6.

Space is limited for both artist-led events, and participants are encouraged to contact SFCC gallery curator Cozette Phillips by e-mail to reserve a spot.

Details on the "Scattered Storms" exhibition and the associated lecture and workshop are available at the SFCC website. More information about Siri Stensberg, including her past work, can be found on her artist website.
