The French horn is in the spotlight this weekend as Whitworth University hosts a special day for that instrument. Called Horn-a-Palooza, it is a day dedicated to learning about the instrument, improving technique and having the pleasure of spending a day with others who love the French horn and its music. Two key personalities in Horn-a-Palooza dropped by the KPBX studio for conversation about the day: organizer and Whitworth horn teacher Jennifer Brummett and horn virtuoso and clinician for the day, Chris Castellanos. The conversation ranged widely and included Chris' own story of meeting his instrument, and stories and musical samples from his ensemble, Boston Brass.
