'A Room Full of Sisters,' written and read by Mona Lake Jones

Mona Lake Jones grew up in Spokane and graduated from Lewis & Clark High School. She went on to Washington State University, University of Washington and Seattle University, where she received her doctorate in education. Mona now lives in Seattle where she served as the city’s Poet Laureate. She has authored five books to include The Color of Culture series, Unleashing the Power of a Sister, and Nectar From Grandhoney.

Mona is presently the Poet Laureate for the international organization The Links, Incorporated. She travels the country performing her works and providing inspirational speeches. She especially enjoys writing about understanding and appreciating culture! Two of her favorite poets are Maya Angelou and Langston Hughes.
