Apr. 20, 2023: Best of Broadway, Get Lit!, Pie & Whiskey

Who's on TA(P)? Peter Rossing plus writers Sharma Shields, Sam Ligon and Kate Lebo

This week's episode of the Thursday Arts (P)review — where the "p" is parenthetical because we look both forward and back — features the following:

  • Peter Rossing, director of marketing for WestCoast Entertainment. He previews the recently announced 2023–24 season for the Best of Broadway series. The season includes a Tina Turner musical, the tongue-in-cheek SIX and the non-musical stage adaptation ofTo Kill a Mockingbird.
  • Author Sharma Shields, who is moderating two events at this year's Get Lit! festival. She shares an Ada Limón poem and talks about the writers she's particularly excited to see at the festival's 25th anniversary. Get Lit! kicked off this morning and runs until April 23.
  • Samuel Ligon and Kate Lebo, writers and co-founders of the popular Pie & Whiskey readings. They offer a brief history of Pie & Whiskey before highlighting some of the authors and poets who will participating in tonight's (Apr. 20) event at the Montvale Event Center in downtown Spokane.

The Thursday Arts (P)review airs every Thursday at 12pm on KPBX with a roundup of arts-related news and information from across the Inland Northwest.
