The Spokane Indians baseball team is asking state lawmakers for $5.8 million to help fund required and optional upgrades at Avista Stadium in Spokane Valley, which turns 65 this year.

The baseball team and county officials did not reach an agreement at a strategic planning meeting. The two sides may meet again next week or in early October.
