Amazon Field Day

Amazon Field Day

Registration Opens for Amazon Field Day, in Partnership with the Spokane Youth Sports Association, on Sept. 13

Fifth annual event celebrates SYSA’s 60th anniversary with adaptive sports, food trucks, and a surprise equipment giveaway for 250+ kids

SPOKANE, Wash. — The Spokane Youth Sports Association (SYSA) and Amazon are teaming up once again for the fifth annual Amazon Field Day on Sunday, Sept. 13 at Andrew Rypien Field. This year’s event doubles as a celebration of SYSA’s 60th anniversary, bringing together sport, community, and six decades of serving nearly one million young people.

From 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., more than 250 children and their families will rotate through an adaptive sports format featuring multiple activity stations, local mascots, yard games, a bounce house, and food trucks. All children will receive a surprise, sports-themed giveaway while supplies last, and Spokane County Commissioner Amber Waldref will be in attendance to help distribute items to Field Day participants.

"Five years in, Amazon Field Day has become something our team looks forward to every year. Watching kids try new sports, discover what they love, and go home with gear to keep playing—it's all about creating great memories for local families," said Keri Pravitz, Amazon's manager of community engagement. "This year especially, bringing the community together to celebrate feels more important than ever."

“Sixty years ago, SYSA set out to make sports accessible to every kid in Spokane. Amazon has shared that mission with us for five of those years, and Field Day is the highlight of our summer,” said Ben Walker, Executive Director, Spokane Youth Sports Association. “We can’t wait to welcome families out for a day of play and celebration.”

Amazon continues to invest in the Spokane region through community partnerships, youth programming, and workforce development. The company’s local engagement efforts reflect its commitment to being an active neighbor in the communities where its employees live and work.

The event is free and open to the public. Families can register on the SYSA website at www.sysa.com. Create a SYSA account, then register children for Field Day.
