Celebrating Indigenous Voices, a Music Faculty Recital

Celebrating Indigenous Voices, a Music Faculty Recital

Whitworth University is pleased to present Celebrating Indigenous Voices, a Music Faculty Recital featuring music by Native American composers on Saturday, Oct. 11 at 7:00 p.m. in the Cowles Music Center's Myhre Recital Hall. We hope you will join us for an exciting evening of unique music by Native American Composers!

Several of our talented music faculty members will perform pieces for a wide array of instruments and genres, including music of Navajo, Mohawk, Cherokee, Maliseet, Comanche, and Seminole composers, both past and present. Learn about tribal histories, myths, and legends, and encounter an immersive multimedia experience. Come celebrate these historically underrepresented voices in a kaleidoscope of sounds celebrating Indigenous culture and heritage.

There is no charge for this concert. If you are unable to join us in person, click here to visit our YouTube page and enjoy the live stream or recording. Don't miss a performance - follow us on Facebook and Instagram!
