Join us for an exciting evening of unique music by Native American Composers! Several of Whitworth University's talented faculty members will be performing solo and ensemble pieces for a wide array of instruments and genres. We will be presenting music of Navajo, Mohawk, Cherokee, Maliseet, Comanche, and Seminole composers, both past and present. Learn about different tribal histories, myths, and legends, and encounter an immersive multimedia experience. Come celebrate these historically underrepresented voices in a kaleidoscope of sounds celebrating Indigenous culture and heritage.
Whitworth University is pleased to present Celebrating Indigenous Voices, a Music Faculty Recital featuring music by Native American composers on Saturday, Oct. 11 at 7:00 p.m. in the Cowles Music Center's Myhre Recital Hall. Jazz night and jam session with a rotating cast of local and regional professionals from 7pm-10pm every second Monday of the month. Hosted by Imagine Jazz with Rachel Bade-McMurphy and Brendan McMurphy, a live performance is followed by a community jam session. Cover charge applies.

Saturday, October 18 at 7:30 p.m.Myrtle Woldson Performing Arts Center, Recital HallJoin us for the debut performance of Luminia, a trailblazing chamber string orchestra with some of Spokane's finest musicians, led by violinist Jason Moody. The program includes the enigmatic Entr'acte by Pulitzer Prize winning composer Caroline Shaw and the joyful Saint Paul's Suite by Gustav Holst.
The concert culminates with a preview screening of Love, Eleanor, a short narrative film directed by Charles M. Pepiton (see trailer), with a live score composed by Michael Kropf. Love, Eleanor follows a young art historian who travels to a Greek island to document its icons. Along the way, she encounters unexpected wonders that move her to reconcile with a former lover. The film was shot on location in Greece in April 2025 with GU alum Elizabeth Spindler in the title role.
