A Requiem (Mass for the Dead), the Church's supreme prayer for the faithful departed, will be celebrated in the Extraordinary Form of the Mass. At the heart of this celebration is the Holy Sacrifice of Christ, made present for the repose of the souls of the dead. Within this sacred liturgy, the Cathedral Choir and Orchestra will present Luigi Cherubini's Requiem in C Minor. As this piece will be presented in the setting for which it was intended, a worship service, the event is free to attend. A free will offering for the Sacred Music Series will be collected.
