Franz Schubert Benefit Concerts

Franz Schubert Benefit Concerts

Please join us for a benefit concert as pianist Michael Brady performs the complete final three piano sonatas of Franz Schubert in full, in one immersive program. Written at the end of Schubert's life at age 31, these works combine lyric beauty with profound emotional depth.

Michael has described these sonatas as "ultimately life-affirming, as though Schubert is reminding us once again that it's not about the destination, it's all about the journey and the joys and camaraderie along the way." For Mr. Brady, performing these works has become an outlet for a deep grief rooted in the HIV epidemic—a grief that had gone quiet over the years, only to resurface during the COVID-19 crisis.

This event is presented in partnership with Methow At Home, Methow Pride, and the Give Methow Campaign, with all proceeds benefiting Methow At Home and the Give Methow “Give to All” Campaign.
