Fur Trade Festival

Fur Trade Festival

The National Park Service and the Northwest Fur Trade Historians are providing a free family-fun event near Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area. Take a step back in time, into our living history encampment to learn about the Fur Trade and what life looked like in this area almost 200 years ago! Enjoy how traders lived, trapped, hunted, dressed, and communicated in the 1800s. Talk about a blast from the past!

Living history demonstrations include:
• Fort Colvile history
• Women’s history
• Sign talk and language
• Animal trapping
• Trading items
• Reenactments

Kettle Falls Historical Center will be closed for the event, but the event will be around their building. For more information, contact Lake Roosevelt at 509-754-7800.
