Illuminations: The History of Bookbinding with Artist Mel Hewitt of LibroBuch

Illuminations: The History of Bookbinding with Artist Mel Hewitt of LibroBuch

Drop in and peruse rare treasures from the Central Library's archives. This month's theme is bookbinding techniques and will also highlight the work of local bookbinder Mel Hewitt of LibroBuch.

Archivist & Special Collections Librarian Dana Bronson and local novelist & Writing Education Specialist Sharma Shields share a passion for libraries, research, and critical archival work. Join them each month as they share exciting and often surprising items from the Central Library's Archives and Special Collections. Highlighted items might include rare books and manuscripts, local records and photographs, and/or maps and correspondence.

This month we'll showcase rare titles about bookbinding (some of them from the 17th century) and also feature the work of local bookbinder and artist Mel Hewitt of LibroBuch. This collision of the old with the new will delight any bibliophile.

By attending library programs, you are agreeing to potentially appear in photos/videos taken at our locations that may be used in promotional materials including social media.
