Annual Obon Summer Festival “A Dance for Joy“
All Ages ~ All Are Welcome
1 PM Festival begins with Artists & Crafts, Japanese Snacks
4 PM Shin Buddhist Service
4:30–7 PM Karate Demo, Spokane Taiko, Bon Odori Dancing

Obon is a time to honor our ancestors with gratitude, reflection, and joyful remembrance. At the Spokane Buddhist Temple, this annual celebration is filled with delicious handmade Japanese food, traditional crafts, and Bon Odori – the communal dance of remembrance and joy. Whether you're remembering a loved one, learning about Buddhist traditions, or simply curious about Japanese culture, everyone is welcome. No dance experience needed – just follow along and feel the rhythm. All proceeds from the festival support our all-volunteer temple.
