Run for the Angels – Memorial Fun Run and Family Day
Run for the Angels – Memorial Fun Run and Family Day
Join the Northwest Infant Survival & SIDS Alliance (NISSA) and Safe Start for the 15th Annual Run for the Angels Memorial Fun Run & Family Day, Sunday, October 4, 2026, at Riverstone Park in Coeur d’Alene.
For 15 years, NISSA has walked alongside local families following the devastating death of a baby or child, providing compassionate, ongoing bereavement support and creating opportunities for families to remember, honor, and speak the names of their children. Run for the Angels has been an important part of that support from the beginning—a day when grieving families know their children are remembered and our community shows up beside them.
Today, that work continues through NISSA’s Healing Together program, which provides bereaved families with support and resources including our Living with Loss support group, 24/7 text support, mailed grief resources, ongoing remembrance outreach, and special memorial events throughout the year.
October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month, making Run for the Angels an especially meaningful time for our community to come together. The event raises awareness of pregnancy, infant, and child loss while reminding grieving families of something incredibly important: they are not alone.
Everyone is welcome. Whether you have experienced the death of a child, are supporting someone who has, or simply want to be part of a community that remembers, we invite you to join us. The day includes family activities, a heartfelt remembrance ceremony, and a 2.5-mile memorial run/walk through Riverstone Park.
Proceeds from Run for the Angels support NISSA's Healing Together bereavement programs, helping ensure families throughout our community continue to have compassionate support following the death of a baby or child—at no cost to them.
