Susie Tree Dedication and Native Blessing Ceremony

Susie Tree Dedication and Native Blessing Ceremony

Out of grief came this greatest expression of love and remembrance. Susie Forest Project has grown from a few trees planted at Spokane Public Library to hundreds of them planted around the world. Today, we will dedicate one more tree, which will be planted at Shadle Park Library.
Levi Horn, a registered northern Cheyanne tribe member, former NFL player, and former Salish School board member, will conduct a native blessing ceremony for the tree before it is planted. The ceremony will include drumming and singing by Salish school children. It is interactive and inclusive. You will have the opportunity to be part of the blessing if you so choose.

This program is part Song Trees Concert, an intergenerational concert blending live music and singalongs to celebrate memory and community. Stay after the tree blessing for a musical instrument "petting zoo!"
