The Bateau, River Pigs, and Priest River Log Drives
In honor of the return of the Diamond Match Bateau to Priest Lake, on July 17th Priest Lake Museum historian Kris Runberg Smith examines the role of the boat during the annual Priest River log drives. Last summer, the Museum of North Idaho, working with the Priest Lake Museum and Priest Lake State Park, found a fitting home for the bateau at Indian Creek Campground. The campground was the site of a Diamond Match Logging Camp.
