The Community Pillar Awards

The Community Pillar Awards

A BLACK CARPETED event that aims to acknowledge and celebrate those who help uplift the African-American community in Spokane. This FREE event was created to provide a night of entertainment and fellowship where we can praise, honor, and recognize the sacrifices and service that Individuals, Businesses, Non-Profit Organizations, and Churches/Religious Organizations have done for the black community in Spokane.
We also present a Heartwood Award to an elder of the African American community who has been a meaningful part of the community's foundation and identity. We chose the word "Heartwood" due to its definition:

The central supporting pillar of the tree. It will not decay or lose strength while the outer layers are intact. It is in many ways the strongest part of the tree.

As we celebrate Juneteenth, the night will be full of culture, education, community, and fun! RSVP and come help us celebrate and recognize PILLARS in the black community who have served and sacrificed their time, energy, and resources!
