David Roon’s background in environmental science merges beautifully with his multi-media artwork, ceramics and printmaking, as he “explores the interface between humans and the global biosphere (particularly costal and marine ecosystems)”.  Through his commitment to conservation biology and his elegant conceptual artwork, Roon invites viewers to consider the meaning of “otherness” and the ecological threats facing our fragile environments. His travels around the world, sharing his knowledge and studying cultural traditions of art, is reflected in his artistic process.
