Underhill Park Restoration Fall Tree Planting

Underhill Park Restoration Fall Tree Planting

Join the Northeast Stewards in helping restore a forested area of Underhill Park.

Over the next year, we will clear invasive species, prepare the land, and plant 1540 plants through April 2026. We hope community members will come out and join us!
We have about 75-100 shrubs left from planting in Sept. On October 8 we will be planting the remaining shrubs and likely watering (with hose or carrying buckets). We may end early once we're done - email Steve in advance if you plan on coming late.

>> Registration is recommended and helps us with planning: https://forms.office.com/r/hFJNU4qrc6.

Please bring:

Work gloves for yourself,
Bring a SHOVEL! A mattock (looks like an ice pick) is perfect for the rocky soil at Underhill. We will likely not have one for every volunteer. Some tools will be provided.
Remember to bring your water/snacks,
Wear good closed-toe shoes.

For day of event questions (City of Spokane), contact Steve Nittolo at snittolo@spokanecity.org - will be on site and in charge of event.

Funds for this project were provided by the USDA Forest Service Urban and Community Forestry Program, administered through the State of Washington Department of Natural Resources Urban and Community Forestry Program.
