On Sunday, November 1 at 3 p.m., Hamilton Studio becomes a French salon. Pianists Archie Chen and Rhona Gouldson-Chen present Encore! — an all-French matinée of Debussy, Fauré, Poulenc, Ravel, and Yann Tiersen for solo piano and four hands. Woven through the program is the story of the instrument itself: according to Chen, the grand piano now at Hamilton Studio is the same one that appeared, unexpectedly, on his family's lawn when he was 14 — the instrument that launched a life in music that has since taken him to international stages and a Sony Classical recording.
