Essays in Vibraphone with Leigh Wilson

Essays in Vibraphone with Leigh Wilson

Spokane's beloved noontime series Piano Lunch returns! The first concert of the season is a vibraphone concert entitled “Essays in Vibraphone” featuring Leigh Wilson, principal percussionist of the Spokane Symphony. The concert explores versatile approaches to the vibraphone by composers Brett Dietz - Apranibita (2003), Betsy Jolas - Études aperçues (1992) , Christopher Deane - Mourning Dove Sonnet (1983) , Astor Piazzola - Tango-Etude No. 3 (1987), and a transcription of Jazz icon Paul Desmond’s charming play on meter, Eleven Four.
Hosted by pianist/composer Hsia-Jung Chang, Piano Lunch is designed for music lovers who want to take a musical break during their lunch hour, the concerts feature 40 minutes of music and short commentary in the warm and intimate acoustical setting of Salem Lutheran Church. Tickets at the door are $20 for General Admission, $15 for Musicians, Seniors, and Students.
