Jimi Hendrix performs at the 1967 Monterey Pop Festival

Monterey Pop is a 1968 concert film by D. A. Pennebaker that documents the Monterey Pop Festival of 1967. Featured performers include Jimi Hendrix, The Who, Otis Redding, Janis Joplin, and more. For many,  the film was their first exposure to these now iconic performers. In 2018, Monterey Pop was selected for the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant.”
