Arrest Warrant Issued for Former Idaho State Representative Aaron von Ehlinger

Former Idaho State Legislator Aaron von Ehlinger, is facing a warrant for his arrest on rape charges.

A warrant for von Ehlinger’s arrest was issued Thursday for Sexual Penetration-Forcible by Use with a Foreign Object, a felony. He is a Republican from Lewiston.

He is accused of raping an Idaho legislative intern last spring and resigned amidst an Idaho State Legislature investigation into his conduct.

The intern, who the courts and Spokane Public Radio are identifying as Jane Doe, reported von Ehlinger both to the Boise Police Department, and the Idaho State Legislature.

Doe said von Ehlinger assaulted her after he took her to a restaurant for dinner. He has claimed  they had consexual sex.

After reporting the assault, Doe was publicly named by von Ehlinger’s supporters.

During the legislature’s investigation into von Ehlinger, other women reporting they had also been harassed by him.

According to Idaho Reports, last week Jane Doe also filed a civil lawsuit, alleging violations of the equal protection clause, retaliation for reporting a crime, negligence and defamation.
