Inland Journal, May 30, 2019: Spokane City Council Candidate Tony Kiepe

Courtesy Tony Kiepe

Today on the Inland Journal podcast, we start a series of conversations with candidates for Spokane city council. Today, we talk with Tony Kiepe, who is challenging council member Lori Kinnear in District One, that’s the council’s south district. Liz Fleming is also in that race.

Kiepe is a health care consultant and frequent speaker in the public forum during Spokane city council meetings. He ran against current council member Breean Beggs two years ago, he finished third in a four-way primary. You’ll hear our entire interview with him. We talk about homelessness. We ask his views about a possible new jail. We talk about growth on the West Plains and a variety of other issues.

On the podcast over the next several weeks, Steve Jackson and I will interview Spokane city council, council president and mayoral candidates who accept our invitations.
