Public Radio Music Day: The Watoto Children's Choir

Join us at Spokane Public Radio for Public Radio Music Day this Thursday, April 16. We like to think every day is a Public Radio Music Day, but we'll be airing some special program on Thursday to mark the official day. In celebration this week we're sharing vidoes of some of our favorite in-studio from the past year.

In September, we were lucky enough to have the Watoto Children's Choir perform live in our studio as they toured across the U.S. The Watoto Children's Choir is comprised of Ugandan children of many ages with their adult leaders, Paul and Eunice Musaali and Mercy Imusalaba. The children and their accompanying musicians perform songs written by members of the Watoto Church, which serves orphaned and vulnerable children and women with a variety of programs. The choir tours with different children each year, allowing as many children as possible to perform for audiences around the world.
