From the Studio: Threads of Wonder at AS2

Spokane Public Radio

Art Spirit Gallery of Coeur d'Alene has a new venture, AS2, in The Wonder Building, in Spokane.  "Threads of Wonder," a pop-up exhibition, features textile artists Shawn Parks and Margaret Mount.

As a part of Pride Month, curator Andrew Whitver worked with Spokane galleries, the City Council, Spokane Arts, the Downtown Library, and the Downtown Square Partnership to designate the First Friday Queer Art Walk. Whitver, and gallerists Kim Deater and Blair Williams discuss the genesis of AS2, the transformation of the Wonder Building, and the exciting events going on this weekend.

See "Threads of Wonder" and partake in the Pride Month celebrations at The Wonder Building, 835 North Post Street in Spokane, this Friday, June 7, from 5 - 9 PM, and through the weekend, from 11 AM - 6 PM.

Verne Windham got his start at Spokane Public Radio 20 years ago. “I came in to complain and they hired me.” He’s now the Program Director, as well as the host of Morning Classical and Concert of the Week. When choosing music for Morning Classical, Verne likes to keep the agenda as broadly defined as possible. For Concert of the Week, he focuses on the best of recent local performances, mostly classical in nature. For many years, Verne was also the conductor of the Spokane Youth Orchestra. He enjoys gardening, his vintage car and playing French horn.
