Spokane's Health District Appoints New Administrator

The Spokane Regional Health District announced Thursday that it has hired a new permanent administrator.

Dr. Bob Lutz comes from Rockwood Health’s urgent care program, where he was the clinical director. He’s a familiar face at the health district. He’s been on the board there for the last eight years. In addition to being a medical doctor he has a master’s degree in public health and has been a board member for the National Association of Local Boards of Health. In addition to his duties at the health district, he will continue working a few hours a week at Rockwood.

The health district has had temporary leadership for about a year. Colville-based physician Dr. Sam Artzis served in an interim capacity. He took over for Dr. Joel McCullough, who left the health district in February 2016 to work for Providence Health Care.
