Unhoused and unsheltered people in the Spokane area will have access to dozens of services Tuesday  during an event called Homeless Connect.

The event was canceled in 2021 due to the pandemic. When it was last held in 2020, 1,100 people connected to services.

Kari Stevens, organizing committee chair for Spokane Homeless Connect, says people experiencing homelessness will have access to showers, haircuts, health screenings, housing services and both coronavirus and flu vaccinations.

She says all three of Spokane’s courts will also be available during the event to address outstanding warrants.

“We want everybody to be treated with dignity and respect tomorrow, and to get all of their needs met in one place," she said.

Volunteers will also be on site for the annual Point in Time Count, which is an annual census conducted of those experiencing homelessness.

The event is from 10 a.m. 3 p.m. at the Spokane Convention Center. Stevens says heaters will be set up outside before the event to keep those who get in line early warm.
