Co-founders of Bright Comet Theatre preview their new SAGA-funded show

Taylor Cummings and Dominique Betts, co-founders (along with Ilan Hernandez) of Bright Comet Theatre, join E.J. Iannelli in the studio to talk about their new performing arts organization and its inaugural production, Lord of the Flies.

Bright Comet was established with the express goal of providing opportunities to young, queer or underrepresented artists.

Their first production, a stage adaptation of William Golding's classic novel, is receiving support from the Spokane Arts Grant Awards (SAGA). The show was one of nine successful creative projects or initiatives to be funded during SAGA's second application round of 2022.

Auditions for Bright Comet Theatre's Lord of the Flies are scheduled for September 24 and 25, 2022 at the new performance space in the Spokane Central Library in downtown Spokane.

SAGA is an annual competitive grant process administered by Spokane Arts. It’s on track this year to allocate nearly $150,000 in financial support directly to artists and organizations.
