'Miraculous,' written and read by Rena Priest

Washington State Poet Laureate Rena Priest is an enrolled member of the Lummi Nation who received an American Book Award for her first collection called “Patriarchy Blues,” published by MoonPath Press. She is a Vadon Foundation Fellow and a recipient of an Allied Arts Foundation Professional Poets Award. She’s finishing the first half of her two-year term as the state’s leading poet, which is giving her an opportunity to promote poetry, including through the Poem in Your Pocket Day, April 29, when many people will carry a poem with them, including poems coming from a refugee and immigrant youth voices poetry project. Rena holds a BA in English from Western Washington University and an MFA in writing from Sarah Lawrence College. Her second and most recent poetry collection is “Sublime Subliminal.”
