Jan. 19, 2023: Borrowed shoes, jazz apps & SAGA

On TA(P) this week: artist/author Diane Sherman, pianist Jahari Stampley and artist Tami Hennessey

This week's episode of the Thursday Arts (P)review — where the "p" is parenthetical because we look both forward and back — includes the following:

  • A studio interview with Diane Sherman, a visual artist, yoga instructor and author of the new book In Borrowed Shoes. She talks about her book and reads one of its vignettes. Diane will hold a book reading and signing at the Souls Center in Spokane on Jan. 27.
  • A sneak preview of an interview with jazz pianist Jahari Stampley hosted by Rachel Bade-McMurphy. The full interview will air on Jan. 20 on Friday Afternoon Jazz. Jahari has several upcoming performances: Jan. 21 at Lucky You Lounge, Jan. 23 at The Bad Seed and on Jan. 27 at The Historic Davenport Hotel.
  • A studio interview with local artist Tami Hennessey. She received Spokane Arts Grant Award (SAGA) funding for “Unraveling My Mind.” The forthcoming exhibition/installation aims to capture her experience with Functional Neurological Disorder and raise awareness about FND.

Trying to place the intro music? It's "High Class in Borrowed Shoes" by Max Webster.

The Thursday Arts (P)review airs every Thursday at 12pm on KPBX with a roundup of arts-related news and information from across the Inland Northwest.
