Cognitively Based Compassion Training

Cognitively Based Compassion Training

CBCT® (Cognitively Based Compassion Training) is a secular course to help individuals cultivate greater resilience, compassion, and well-being. It is drawn from the ancient Tibetan Buddhist practice of lojong (mind-training), combined with contemporary insights from neuroscience, evolutionary psychology, and emotion science.

Developed at Emory University, CBCT is designed for people of any faith, or no faith tradition. Whether you’re seeking personal growth, improved relationships, or tools to support your work in caregiving, education, leadership, or healthcare, CBCT offers a practical path toward cultivating compassion for yourself and others.
