Introduction to Digital Photography with Roger DuBois

Introduction to Digital Photography with Roger DuBois

For adult students

Wednesdays, 6:30-8:30PM April 13, 20, 27 and May 4, 11 & 18, 2022

Why a digital camera when my phone takes good pictures? The adjustability, lenses and lighting possibilities of a digital camera mean you don’t just “take a photo”, you can create stunning images from your mind’s eye. Digital cameras have brought back the fun of photography for many of us. Switch your digital camera off “AUTO” and learn to capture the pictures in your imagination. Unleash your creativity while learning to master the fantastic new world of digital photography.

This class will help you to better understand which functions, buttons and settings on your camera to use, to create better photographs! You’ll explore how aperture (AV) and shutter speed (TV) are the heart of creative control. Discover the importance of white balance, exposure compensation, daylight flash, and focus contribute to the total image. We will also take a look at various camera accessories. If time allows, we can look at how the computer ties in to creativity and picture storage.
