Irving Berlin's WHITE CHRISTMAS

Irving Berlin's WHITE CHRISTMAS

Regional Theatre of the Palouse
presents:

White Christmas
Book by David Ives and Paul Blake.
Based on the 1954 film.

It’s a holiday miracle! White Christmas is the heart-warming musical comedy based on the film of the same name, featuring 17 songs by Irving Berlin. Dazzling musical numbers, colorful design, and an emotional story describe this winter extravaganza, playing October 19-29 at Regional Theatre of the Palouse.

The stage adaptation of White Christmas opened on Broadway at the Marquis Theatre in 2008, and since then the musical has exploded in popularity. The holiday hit is coming to the Palouse to enchant audiences!

Veterans Bob Wallace and Phil Davis have a successful song-and-dance act after World War II. With romance in mind, the two follow a duo of beautiful singing sisters to their Christmas show at a Vermont lodge, which just happens to be owned by the men’s former army commander. When Bob and Phil learn of the lodge’s troubles, they team up with the sisters to save the inn -- and in the process, their Christmas celebrations. With a dazzling score featuring standards including “Blue Skies,” “I Love a Piano,” “How Deep Is the Ocean” and the title song, “White Christmas” is an uplifting, wholesome musical that will delight people of all ages.

Packed with humor, romance, and unforgettable song and dance numbers, RTOP’s performance of White Christmas is directed by theater professional and Palouse native Michael Todd; Community member Tina McClure serves as musical director; WSU Senior Gavin Hamilton aids as choreographer. Costume design by RTOP Executive Director John Rich, assisted by Juliann Yusko WSU Apparel and Design Intern.
