The Travelin' McCourys

The Travelin' McCourys

The McCoury brothers—Ronnie and Rob—were born into the bluegrass tradition. Their father, Del, is among the most influential and successful musicians in the history of the genre. Decades in the Del McCoury Band honed their knife-edge chops, and encouraged the duo, and longtime bandmates Jason Carter and Alan Bartram, to imagine how traditional bluegrass could cut innovative pathways into the 21st century.
Unforgettable collaborations with Dierks Bentlley, Tyler Childers, jam band titans String Cheese Incident, Phish…and the creation of the Grateful Ball—a tribute concert-turned-tour bridging bluegrass with the iconic music of the Grateful Dead—have made them a festival mainstay.
Rolling Stone called them “a sublime combination of rock and bluegrass, contemporary and classic, old and young.”
...and the accolades continue. Just before the world stopped, they were honored by the IBMA as the Instrumental Group of the Year, and with a Grammy for Bluegrass Album of
the Year.
