Trailer Park Girls

Trailer Park Girls

Attention Metaline Fallasians: Prepare yourselves for an evening of music and somewhat irrevent fun with Trailer Park Girls – The Duet, which will be performing at the storied Cutter Theatre on Aug. 26 at 7 p.m.
Formed in 1999, Trailer Park Girls has appeared hundreds of times throughout eastern Washington or, as Jimi Hendrix once dubbed it, “the Ingrown Empire.”
Spoiler Alert! There are no girls, females or women in Trailer Park Girls, which some people don’t understand due to irony impairment.
The Duet consists of singer-songwriter Doug Clark, former columnist for Spokane’s biggest news rag, and Joe Brasch, an ace guitarist who joined the band because he, A. found the songs catchy and B. Clark promised to buy his guitar strings for life.
Although that turned out to be a complete falsehood, Brasch decided to stick it out and the duo have been joined at the hype ever since.
Trailer Park Girls repertoire consists of what Clark calls “Journalism Pop,” as in: fact-based satirical refrences to Spokane, a womanizing holy roller Clark once encountered and a ballad about the $%^!!ing drunk who hit Clark’s vintage stationwagon. They also promise to throw in a few classic country tunes as a nod to those American glory days, when honest working people left their kids home alone to hang out in grubby, smoke-hazed saloons.
“You’ll laugh. You’ll cry. You’ll double up on your Adderall,” vowed Clark.
“Yes,” echoed Brasch. “Please come see us. We’re really quite needy.”
