Small Funnel Cloud Spotted Near Pullman

Twitter/National Weather Service

The National Weather Service in Spokane says weather watchers spotted a funnel cloud near the Pullman-Moscow area this afternoon.

According to the office Twitter account, meterologists call the cloud a ‘cold air funnel’, basing that off of information from radar and from observations from some who saw it. They say the weather system included thunder and heavy rain, but has since weakened.

Forecasters say the heaviest rain in the Inland Northwest fell in an area from Springdale to north Spokane County, with small hail and gusty winds in places. They say some areas received up to an inch of rain. A flood advisory was issued for northern Lincoln County, including the stretch of Highway 2 between Davenport and Wilbur.
