Knox Gardner Shares “What the Moon Knows” by Christine Deavel with Gary Deavel

Christine Deavel has published poems and essays, including the poetry collection Woodnote (Bear Star Press, 2012), which received the Washington State Book Award. From 1995 to 2016, Christine, along with her husband, J.W Marshall owned and operated Open Books, the poetry-only bookstore in Seattle. Vicinity | Memoryall (Entre Ríos Books, 2018) written in collaboration with husband, is their first play.

Gary Deavel has had a long career as a church pianist and is currently in good health in Michigan.

Chris Maccini previously worked at SPR as Morning Edition host and producing arts and special programming such as The Bookshelf, Poetry Moment, Northwest Arts Review, special features and more.
