Snow Possible In The Inland Northwest Again On Tuesday

National Weather Service

Weather forecasters say another round of precipitation will hit the Inland Northwest as early as tomorrow.

“Tomorrow is a tricky forecast. We’re going to see a lot of different things evolve in eastern Washington," said Greg Koch, a meterologist at the National Weather Service office in Spokane.

He says the Spokane and Coeur d’Alene areas will see snow by mid-morning, heavy at times during the late morning and into the afternoon. Later in the day, the snow may turn into rain in the valleys.

“Elevation will make a difference in this system," Koch said.  "For elevations around two thousand feet around Spokane, we’re calling for two-to-three inches of snow. Over toward Coeur d’Alene, we may see the cold air last longer for the potential of up to five inches locally.”

The mountains of North Idaho could see even more snow. Forecasters say the Silver Valley could see six-to-eight inches, Bonners Ferry could get up to six inches. Sandpoint could see eight inches to a foot.

Wednesday will be dry but windy. Thursday could bring a bit of snow. On Friday the chance of precipitation will increase, again with a mix, depending on temperature and elevation.
