Jim Mohr and Mike Winser chat about the improv theater's classes and holiday lineup

Mike Winser and Jim Mohr of the Blue Door Theatre joined E.J. Iannelli in the KPBX studio to talk about the improv theater's holiday schedule as well as the workshops and classes it offers.

Winser is the organization's assistant artistic director and one of its veteran players; Mohr is the board president.

On Fridays throughout December, the Blue Door is featuring its Ha!!mark Holiday Special, a fully improvised satire of formulaic holiday movies that's based on audience suggestions. The show is suitable for all ages.

On Saturdays is the long-running Safari, a short-form improv sketch show that's similar to Whose Line Is It Anyway?. Safari is better suited for 18+ audiences.

Blue Door continues to offer its improv jam sessions and improv 101/201 workshops. The classes teach the basic craft and philosophy of improv to newcomers and also cater to more experienced performers who want to learn specialized skills.

The all-volunteer theater is preparing to launch a ticket promotion that will provide admission to multiple shows for one discounted price.

For details on shows, performance times, tickets and classes, visit the Blue Door Theatre website.
