From the Studio: Gonzaga's "(pool) no water"

Cast members and their director discuss their staged reading of Mark Ravenhill's play

Blake Anthony Edwards, Hannah Hopkins, Zander Page and Mia Torres joined E.J. Iannelli in the KPBX studio to talk about their staged reading of Mark Ravenhill’s (pool) no water at Gonzaga University.

Hopkins, Page and Torres are all cast members and students in the Acting II class at Gonzaga. Edwards is their instructor and is also directing this play, which depicts a group of artists wrestling with the idea of making a work of art out of their injured friend.

(pool) no water departs from conventional scripts because it has no stage direction, dramatis personae or assigned dialogue. It's up to each production to determine the cast and allocation of lines.

During the interview, the cast members read a short scene from the play. It offered a glimpse of the characters' dynamic and some of the drama's leitmotifs.

The staged reading of (pool) no water takes place this evening and tomorrow evening (Feb. 9 and 10, 2023) at Gonzaga's Magnuson Theatre.

For tickets and more info, visit the Gonzaga Theatre & Dance website or call (509) 313-2787.
